TWO-MINUTE DRILL
Q: How did you get involved in soccer?
A: Both my parents coach soccer and my brother got involved in soccer at an early age.
Q: Did you play other sports growing up before concentrating on soccer only?
A: I didn't really try any other sport. I was focused on becoming better at soccer.
Q: What are a couple of your favorite memories of playing at Pine Tree? What about memories at ETBU?
A: In high school, scoring a goal against Highland Park (defending state champions) in a 2002 playoff game. They always beat us, shut us out when we played them, and even though we lost that game 2-1, I felt really good about finally getting a goal against them.
In college, I have two: scoring five goals against Lions College in 2006, and breaking the record for most goals in a season.
Q: Why did you get into teaching?
A: I've always wanted to teach, and I love being around children and seeing their progress from start to end.
Q: Why did you choose the subject/age you're teaching?
A: I am certified to teach Pre-K through eighth grade and student taught in second and fifth (grades). I really like the independence that fifth-graders have, but they also still respect you as a teacher and are still willing to learn.
I teach math and science. I like to teach those subjects because they are my strengths.
Q: Are you still involved in soccer? If so, how?
A: I currently coach a girls club soccer team that plays on weekends during the spring and fall in Arlington. The girls' ages range from 14 to 16. I also play in a Sunday adult league.
Q: What are your plans for the future?
A: Continue to teach and coach, but I would like to extend my coaching to a higher level, such as high school or college.
