PT Alum Named Volleyball Coach at Leverett's Chapel High

Jacobs was a three-sport standout (volleyball, basketball and track) at Pine Tree, and the Lady Pirates were 83-26 in her three seasons on the varsity volleyball squad.

As a senior, she averaged 10 kills, four digs, three blocks and six service points per match in helping lead the Lady Pirates to a 40-1 record and a berth in the UIL State Volleyball Tournament. Pine Tree won its first 40 matches that season — all in straight sets — defeating Cleburne in the state semifinals before falling to New Braunfels in the Class 4A state championship match.

Jacobs was named the district's top hitter, the Longview News-Journal's All-East Texas top hitter and was a first team all-state selection by the Texas Sports Writers Association.

In her junior season, Pine Tree was 27-9 and Jacobs averaged 10.5kills and 5.6 digs per match to earn first team All-East Texas and District MVP honors.

Jacobs signed a volleyball scholarship with Texas State University in San Marcos and later transferred to Texas A&M-Commerce.

She lettered one year (2001) at Texas State University, playing in 105 games over 28 matches (26 starts) and finishing with 303 kills, 850 attacks, 20 aces, 20 assists, 274 digs and 22 total blocks. The kills and digs both ranked second on the team, while her 2.61 digs per game was tops on the squad.

Jacobs also played in eight matches in 2002, but did not letter. She finished with 66 kills, 41 digs and 10 blocks.

As a junior at Texas A&M Commerce, Jacobs earned honorable mention all-conference honors after recording 297 kills and 353 digs.
